There’s nothing I love more than that sunkissed, dewy glow for summer, and these products are my favorite for achieving the look. Here are some of my must-have beauty products for the summer!
1. Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer Oil-Free
This is definitely a must-have for the hot summer months! This lightweight formula is the perfect mix between skincare and makeup. It gives my skin a dewy natural glow, and controls oil throughout the day. The best part is you don’t have to worry about piling on sunscreen throughout the day because this formula contains SPF 20!
2. Tarte Maracuja Oil
This treatment oil does an amazing job with replenishing your skin for a brighter and smoother-looking complexion. The oil contains a rare Amazonian superfruit enriched with Vitamin C and other vitamins. At first, I thought the hype of using additional oils on our skin was a bit questionable, but this oil doesn’t leave my skin feeling greasy or oily at all. I love all the different ways you can use it… I usually mix in one drop to my foundation or moisturizer for brighter, dewy skin or use it in my nighttime skincare routine.
3. NYX Liquid Illuminator
This is a great illuminator for layering over your base for an extra sheen. The formula is very well pigmented; so a little dab goes a long way in making your complexion more luminous and dewy. I like to mix a small amount into my tinted moisturizer or lightly apply it over my highlighted areas. I usually apply a bit to the top of my cheekbones, my brow bone and a bit to highlight my nose. The best part of this illuminator is that it’s only 7 dollars and the smallest drop gives you a beautiful iridescent sparkle!
4. MAC Mineralized Skinfinish – Global Glow
I absolutely love the consistency and finish of this highlighter. It adds the most perfect glow to the skin and can also double as a shimmery eyeshadow! The formula is very creamy and blends into the skin seamlessly. I like to dust the product all over my face after applying foundation to give my skin a nice glow or apply it with a fan brush over my highlighted areas. The tints of gold and bronze in this highlighter are perfect for that sunkissed look we all want in the summer (and after).
5. L’Oreal Infallible Eyeshadow (Colors: Iced Latte, Amber Rush, Liquid Diamond)
What amazes me the most about these eyeshadows is that for only 8 dollars, the color payoff is amazing. The formula is very pigmented, creamy and long lasting. The color options for these eyeshadows are all gorgeous, but I thought the Iced Latte and Liquid Diamond shades were perfect for summer! L’Oreal Infallible Eyeshadows are definitely a staple when it comes to finding a beautiful and affordable shadow.
6. Clinique Moisturizing Chubby Stick in Super Strawberry
The Chubby Stick is one of my favorite lip balms because it’s SO moisturizing and contains color all in one! Summer sun can do some damage to your lips and cause a lot of dryness. The mango and shea butters in this balm repair and replenish the moisture in your lips, while also giving it a nice sheen of color. These are perfect for everyday if you want a bit of colour on your lips without having to maintain a lipstick throughout the day. My favorite is ‘Super Strawberry!’ It’s such a nice raspberry pinkish shade for daytime! I also included the EOS balm, which is a great nourishing balm for those of you who don’t want any colour.
7. Mario Badescu Rosewater Facial Spray
I cannot go a day without using this facial spray; it’s one of the staple items in my purse! For someone who is always running around during the day, this product gives me that quick pick me up when I need it. It is similar to the MAC fix+ with much nicer price tag ($7!). And who doesn’t love the smell of roses? The spray is a combination of rosewater, aloe, and herbal extracts that leave your skin feeling refreshed, nourished and glowing. I love using it to set my make-up and anytime my skin is feeling dehydrated or uncomfortable.
8. NYX Matte Blotting Paper
Blotting papers are a must-have for keeping your make-up in place! If you are a bit oily/shiny like me…these are a must! There are different types of blotting sheets such as green tea, fresh face, and tea tree, but I like the matte ones because they do the best job of removing shine and excess oil from my face. They specifically only remove surface oil from the skin, so you don’t have to worry about any of your make-up coming off in the process. These blotting sheets are very similar to the Sephora brand sheets, but half the price!
